Digital Camera Ratings
Hello and welcome to Digital Camera Ratings, where we review and rate popular brands such as Canon, Nikon, Panasonic, Fuji, Sony, and more.
We also offer a comparison of digital camera ratings for camera types, such as kids digital cameras or small ones.
Most of these digital camera ratings assume that you are looking to buy a camera new, from an online site such as Amazon or from a brick and mortar retailer. It is also possible to buy used cameras from places such as eBay or Craigslist. If you do that, do your best to determine that the camera is in working condition. Most of the items of the review will apply to used cameras assuming they are not damaged. Another aspect is refurbished digital cameras. These tend to come straight from the manufacturer or an associated company and the new digital camera ratings would apply to this case.
Canon PowerShot SD1100IS
The Canon PowerShot SD100IS is an 8 megapixel digital camera with a 3x optical zoom with image-stabilization capabilities. It is one of the best selling products on Amazon, and gets high digital camera ratings from costumers and electronics magazines alike.
The Canon Power Shot SD 100IS is a fairly cheap option, and does come with some advanced features. It’s main pull, however, is the good picture quality it provides along with its design, which is ultracompact.
It isn’t a camera for a person who wants lots of options and manual control. Instead, it is for photographers who want a high quality point and shoot.
Canon Powershot SX10IS
The Canon PowerShot SX10IS offers a lot of features for a camera that costs less than $500. It is 10 megapixels and has a 20 zoom. It isn’t meant to be a super portable camera, and instead focuses on having a sturdy design. Most hobby photographers would be better off with a simpler model.
The face detection technology works fairly well on the SX 10IS, which makes red eye fairly rare. The 28mm wide angle lens makes it a perfect fit for group shots.
Vtech – Kidizoom Digital Camera Ratings
The Vtech Kidizoom gets the best digital camera ratings amongst the models good for preschool and elementary aged children. It is made for ages 3 and up. With its 16 MB internal memory it can store more than 200 photos or five minutes of video. The picture quality is what you would expect from a child’s camera, ok but not great. It is 1.3 megapixels. The 1.8 inch color screen makes it easy for a child to see what they are shooting.
Fisher Price Kid Tough
Another option for your child is the Fisher Price Kid Tough. It’s easy for young children to use and is durable enough to last through their playtime. It doesn’t have the video feature that makes the Vtech Kidizoom stand out, and the picture quality is lacking in this toy.
